Newbie Feeding Question?

i really do think catching feeders is great exercise for them and keeps them alert. i have just heard that using live feeders can make them more aggressive.

I agree, but I think that using them as a treat like once a month or every couple weeks isnt bad. especially if you gut load the feeders with exotic foods like spirulina and coating food they eat with astaxanthin powder. Its natuaral, they eat them in the wild...otherwise try gut loaded crickets full of flake food, spirulina and carrots.:D

Hi guys, I have been doing a bit of searching around on the site in regards to feeding Silver Arowana's.

So far I have been soaking Hikari Gold pellets and Sera Cichlid sticks for about 5 mins before putting them in. The Arow circles them for a bit and then grabs them. I have been also feeding some small/medium crickets which I gut loaded with fish flake food and carrot.

Would waxworms be an acceptable and beneficial food? My other cichlids love them.

Also is it best to feed pellets and sticks every day and then just feed crickets or waxworms once a week?

Are there any foods I should avoid?

Thanks.

Ok, back to my original questions, can any of you guys clear up the two in bold please.

Thanks. :D

im not sure about foods to avoid, but i know many people do feed there aros wax worms. just make sure you keep them afloat or the aro usually wont eat them.
