looks just like my florida gar. And as stated, I would recommend feeding them as much as you can. Gars have biiggg appetites and i like to always make sure they at least have a few rosies swimming around so they don't lash out on tankmates. well goodluck!

ok, i was transferring my gar to a bigger tank and i placed him in a bucket for the mean time so i could get the stuffs ready, before transferring him to his new home, he got really pale.. and i was so worried. when i placed him in his new aquarium, his colors came back. what happened? he got pale bcoz he was stressed?

yes, gars will get pale when they are stressed (in most cases, with most species), generally any color extreme outside the "norm" for that species is a good indicator of some level of stress.

also keep in mind, however, that gars will go lighter in color when they are in lighter surroundings, and often darker (pattern-wise) when in darker surroundings. at night gars will also lose their color/pattern to an extent; this is also the case in very turbid water in the wild--
