Newbie to PBass. Please Help with ID!!!

Ocel or Mono...he isnt eating...according to the LFS he has not ate since Wed.
 
check water params.... your fish might be stressed out... when was the last time you cleaned your tank?

as far as feeding water params play a big part in that,,, also just throw a bunch of feeders in there such as minniws/ROSY REDS!! there more healthier than goldies!!

ID'ing i concur with bradda boost.... OCELL...;)
 
Water params are pristine. The Ocell? wasn't eating at the LFS and still has not eaten.
 
is there feeders in the tank? so he can get them at his own free will!!!???
 
Yep. I have dropped several feeders in the tank with him. He has to compete for food. They all love feeders.
 
Starting to wonder if the PBass is going to be with us for very long. I moved him from the large tank to an isolation tank. I dropped in several feeders that have been quarantined for quite some time.

He is getting picked on picked on by the feeders. A feeder just nailed him in the side. He jerked but didn't offer to eat any of them.

I knew better then to bring this guy home but I got such a good deal on the Rose Queen and the FH that I figured I wouldnt be out anything if he didnt make it. And I could not leave him there to die.

He's almost as skinny as Lindsay Lohan.
 
It was mentioned to me to try some garlic oil to stimulate his appetite but I won't be able to get to a store until the weekend. Life on the island sucks at times.

Are there any other tricks that might stimulate a feeding response?
 
my peas never liked garlic.... i cnt get them to eat it.. its very good for them though, i use the kent one for the fish in my reef tank. as for your cichla, make sure your water parameters are all good, and just keep some healthy feeders in the tank and the water temp around 87+... and hopefully he will come through... good luck bradda.. dont give up hope
