Well since you posted that picture im sure your aware of it's size lol thats a tiger shovelnose mate, around the same size as the rtc and requires similiar care. p.s Same growth rate aswell

Thanks for the info. Any suggestions on some smaller cats with some nice markings like this one or the RTC?

Still searching for some advise on good websites to purchase these great fish!

Id start small. A jag would be good in a 125 or bumblebees in a way smaller tank. There are not other catfish that have markings like that of a RTC. Which sucks haha. To me they are the best fish in the world. Even if you had a pond for them they wouldnt survive the winter in Oklahoma. You would need some serious heaters to do so. Like said before they will outgrown a 125 in about 3 months. I had to build a custom tank just to support mine until i get the pond up.

you're going huge from the beginning!! you like catfish for sure, look into sun cats, raphaels, etc.. you'll definitely want something you can put in your tanks to house for life. since you have graduated sizes of tanks, you won't have to worry about upgrading/transporting/acclimating/accidents if you keep your fish's max size under 20".. as for places to buy fish online, there are amazing vendors on here! you can always find someone near you! other than that, I've had successful liveaquaria orders. good luck! youre definitely in a monster state of mind!
