Hello all. I've been stalking the pike section for several months and i figured it was about time I joined. So far I have two pikes, which is down from the 4 i had. Unfortunately when your filter breaks over vacation, the results are catastrophic. Im gonna try to attach some pictures of my Cr. Sveni?? He's currently in a 75G with a jack dempsey, a convict, 7 silver dollars, a mango pleco, and senegal bichir, and a regular pleco. Hopefully, ill get some pics of my other pike up soon and hopefully i can get an id on him.

looks like an older sveni

BTW the other cichlid you posted is a managuense/jaguar cichlid not a jack dempsey

also WELCOME

It's definitely a sax group pike. I guess it could be a sveni, but I have some doubts. Sax group pikes are hard to ID. A full body shot would help for sure.

yeah not possative that its a sveni but looks like it full body shot would DEF help

ill work on a full body shot of him tomorrow. camera ran out of batteries. i know the other one is managuense, hes in another tank all by himself. just thought id throw him in cuz hes so pretty

just took some more photos of my other pike. had to take his cave out to get them as he is alittle shy. im wondering what species he is if anyone knows. also wondering if anyone has suggestions to get him more active. he tends to like to stay in his cave ALOT and not really come out and swim around.

Ooh, that second pike is nice. Possibly Crenicichla lacustris, hard to say as he's not happy.

I agree, that pike is PO'd! How big is his tank? What's the water quality like? What do you feed him?

I'm full of questions! :D

He is PO'd in the picture. I had to take his cave out to get a picture so he wasn't happy. I feed him hikari massivore delite pellets and frozen krill, PH is 7, ammonia 0. i can get him to eat the krill right out of my hand which i think is cool. He's currently in a 40 gallon tank all by himself since he's one aggresive SOB. filtration is an aquaclear 70 and a penguin powerhead. anyone have any tips for getting him to come out of his cave??
