Hi All !

Newbie here ! .... Been keeping fish for ?? 25 years on and off .... recently returned to the hobby after settling down again ! ... Have convinced my Fiance that an indoor tropical pond would look great in our conservatory ! :-) Obviously this is gonna take some planning and prep and stack of cash ! ...
Currently have a 100g tank with a baby red tail catfish ...baby tiger shovelnose, baby red tail gourami, two small red bellied pacu..... Would like to get a niger catfih to add to the collection... however finding it hard to source one ...( no rush )
Would be greatfull of any advise on best ways to build an indoor pond with a glass viewing pane ! ...... I am fairly handy on DIY and have built koi ponds of 7000 gallons before and not phased by a bit of hard graft ! .... was looking at building the indoor pond to about 12 foot long x 6 foot wide by approx 3/4 foot deep...... Has anyone here ever built one from timber and had it ? fibreglassed ?? Is that a no no ? i would imagine that it will have to be built from concrete blocks etc etc ..... any info or pointers to existing threads/posts is appreciated .... I will be browsing myself ....

WICKED SITE !!! cant believe i have never looked at it before !! D'oh !

regards Thundayam

Welcome! I cant wait to see pics of your babies. I have a baby rtc i just picked up too. I'm sure you will find what you need from the experts here. They are awesome

Will have to take some soon as he is putting on weight like my last one did ! had him for approx 4 weeks and he has gone from 2.5 inches to approx 6.5 inches !! ......... best fish ever .... just want tomake sure he has a nice big home ! What size tank do you have ?

I have him in a 150 for now growing out. Once we buy our house we will be building a pond. I got him when he was about 3 inches. Hes about 6 inches now not including his long whiskers. I think we have had him for about 2 -3 months. He is a piggy. He looooooves his scallops. They laugh when I go buy them at the store because I only need about 15 for now. lol He has a deformed upper jaw so it seems like he's smiling all the time. ( Thats how he got his name Joker.) But he eats great so thats all I worried about. This pic is from when I first got him. I will post a current one later. :)
