To play the devil's advocate, growing tons of plants, I can imagine it would be very difficult to take photos of 100's or 1000's of fish. If it was truly a "one of a kind" that's different, but having seen many FH's, most look quite almost alike.
I think you'd be better off looking for one in person, rather than online, if you're "that" picky about what you're looking for.

I would have to completely disagree, i have had many seller atleast send me a picture of the parents, now if it is something they don't list and they are a trusted name because i have bought from them, then yes it would be ok, like rainnybetta. You wouldn't have to seperate them(but they should be once they are big)for a picture if they are fry, just take a picture of all of them, that would work for me, which i am picky. I hate low grade flowerhorns(not offense) but i would not buy unless i saw a picture.

whoooooooooooooooooooooooooa billy

So you mean to tell me from that one phone call/email conversation you are gonna use it as a club to strike down an entire business by posting a thread like this. Have they slighted you and sent you bad fish or is it just this initial conversation?

Let me add a personal angle to this from my view point.

I have been in the restaurant business for many many years. Take my veggie lovers wrap I sell here. The veggie mix is made fresh daily and changes all the time depending on what I pick up at the market and what I make it like. For example yesterday was a balsamic herbed tomato mix touched with bruschetta, I ran out of that so I made and olive oil pesto enfused garden green mix.

I have people who swear by my veggie wrap. The issue is when I do veggie food I follow what I call a static principle not stasis. I am ever changing the mix depending on how I make it and it is never the same twice. Whereas some restaurants make it the same all the time I refuse to be boring.

So when someone comes to my counter(keep in mind this is a healthy fast food deli concept) and they ask about the veggie wrap- What's in it? . We reply veggies. Most people accept that and order, those who don't we try to see if they are allergic, if so we say yea or nay. If not allergic we say again veggies. If they press the issue, we try politely to tell them about how we make it and that we assure them it is good. If they still insist on knowing what is in it (despite being told that it takes me anywhere from half- full hour to make and contains from 12-40 ingredients ) then we suggest they order something else. Should I make the 2-5 people waiting in line wait longer so I can take 3-7 minutes to explain how I made the mix NO BLOODY WAY!!!!!!.

I would rather tiff off the obnoxious than the people waiting in line behind them!

I figure it's the same way with the company saying they can not possibly take pictures of every fish, way to much labour involved which in turn is indeed a cost that has to be passed on to the consumer!!! And what if human error mixed up the photo, so much for the picture fits the fish policy.

If you wish to write off a business for receiving a bad fish righty o I will concour with that!!!

If you wish to write off a business because they have instituted a policy such as you are taking exception to MEH your loss not theirs.

So too is it with my veggie food, I simply do not have time to stonewall other paying customers and really it's not worth my time!!!!! To a consumer who is put off by that way of doing things go stand facing the wind and relieve yourself for all I care, BUT PLEASE MAKE SURE TO COMPLAIN AS THE WIND WHIPS THE RAINSTORM BACK AT YA!!!!

Go ahead go eat the corporate slop that comes out a can or a bag from a factory! I will keep on making chef prepared student priced food that people can eat in good conscience!

Anybody notice the date on this thread?

WOW, no i didn't, hmm. I hate when people start up old threads.

OK YOU HOLD HIS ARMS AND I WILL GET MY COWBOY BOOTS ON ;)

personally i am not interested in flowerhorns right now but I have to thank you for the heads up. I love posts like this.

people can interpret the post any way that they want and they can even defend the seller. but the fact that he took the time to share this info is really great.

I think this kind of post is worthy of my time to read, unlike tons of posts "look at my [x]" and they attach a horrible crappy blurry pic.

anyway just saying thanks for the post man.

WHY DO PEOPLE BRING OLD POST BACK!!! WHY I DONT UNDERSTAND. :irked::screwy:
