Newbs looking at piranha options

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
For those of you that are looking into piranhas the stock from vendors is low... piranha season usually starts off around March with a shipment or 2 from peru/brazil until may/June is when all the baby Caribe come in ( if you want a more aggressive shoal I recommend waiting for Caribe over red bellies...Imo they look nicer and are less skittish) ....so do ur research now cycle your tanks and wait a few months there will be better choices
Hey just curious but when do elongated usually come in? Just wondering if you had past experience with aquascape and they shipments. Also I remember you said spilos were pretty cool loner fish? If you could keep one or the other what would you choose. I value your opinion a great deal. Thanks

Elongs should be in soon....within next few months

For Serras...I personally prefer rhoms and mannys......all serras personalities are diff by individual fish not by species ....but majority of Ruby red spilos and elongs are aggressive

I have had almost ever P that's been available over the past 15 years. Any one that was around in the Pfury glory days will remember me as The Black Piranha and my boy Jmax611 had a nice collection too. But I would go with a RRS over the elong and Macs have great personality too. But my favorite is always going to be the blue Diamond Rhoms. Had a few and were always great fish to keep.

I myself used to be a heavy member on P fury and here, I had about 12 tanks including the Largest marginatus named terminator that's been recorded on any forum, he was my favorite fish all time. But to be honest a true Black mask Elong in a 125 with a powerhead is like a mini ATF. my Marginatus was active too . RRS are nice but stay to small for me, very active though. What ever happen to the Black Diamond Rhoms JP had the best one ever

**** aquascape....none of the staff know how to do their job and the owner can't even give a few hrs of his time a day to be at the store to get stuff done
