I was told koliba... can ansorgi and laps interbreed?

I went looking for some red sand yesterday but couk dnt find any. What would yoy suggest putting in?

I haven't heard of it, not sure if its possible.

I just have some random red sand from a craft store mixed with black diamond sand blasting sand. Cost like $20 to fill up my 120g.
 
I will have to take a look then, so its safe and doesnt leech anything to the water? Never would have thought about checking them out. So you can really tell a difference when adding black and red sand?

really nice looking bichir. is it wc? Head shape looks awesome and makes me think it's wild. The black mark in the fin may fade.
 
Thank you. Yes wc, im hoping it wont fade... others have said to get darker sand, the sand I have now is mostly a tanish color so looking into finding some red and or black to mix in to keep him from getting washed out.

Yeah, it makes a pretty big difference, especially in lower-jawed species.
 
Do you think a bag of the flourite substrate used for plants would be a good choice, or should I stick with sand?

Stick with sand. Flourite is likely to cause blockages and death eventually.
