Stock sounds fun, but I prefer wood to rocks. Less dangerous to the fishes as well. Wish I could see them all, lol.

i think you have a sweet start to a comunity tank but i have to agree about the wood
because i love drift wood....only my my opinion though
and becase you cant have live plants maybe some silk plats at the back
i noticed you have a black background wich i a a serious fan of and have two tanks with the same background
and i noticed the introduction of the color green in my tank really gave the grays and browns and blacks contrast aswell as my fish seem to stick out more ..wich im constantly trying to perfect
if you are crafty you can get some live plants to survive with your stock but it would be a trial and error experience fopr sure
and once again sweet tank and stock list
have a good one

Hello, I need help with my puffer, I just joined and cannot find how to post :( I have looked all around. Please tell me how to post or if you may be able to advise on a puffer w anchor worms THANK YOU!

You've got some awesome stock there!!! I would suspect that you paid a heavy price for that Red Texas Cichlid. If so, and you want to keep him, I would seriously recommend that you plan on relocating:

1) The Jaguar
2) The Cuban
3) The Doviis (especially these!!!)

And keep an eye on that Red Terror also!!! If you keep that mix of fish, you're likely to end up with WWIII.

Nevertheless, your stock is, indeed, awesome!!!

it will be adjusted i think it looks kool for now. africans would love it. this tank should have 6 months before i start putting fish into my other tanks

that was my thought . . . way too many rocks, and it looks like an African set-up . . . and based on your stock list, it can't last

good luck

so far so good. salvinis just had fry again. male keeps everyone away and it seems like they all just know to stay away. the rest of the tank belongs to the festae. hes very calm but doesnt like anyone near him. the dovii have chose there cave and are looking good! ill get some pics soon. for a part time tank its fun to watch. getting ready to pull the red texas i have 3 others in a 100 and im gonna try n pair them off. cuban is growing slowly but when he comes out looks so dope!. garage room is getting closer to finish. starting on the 2 plywood tanks. do my best to take pics

Nice tank...lookin good.

....looks like an african cichlid setup tho, wood could be more desirable for the fish you have.

Nice mix of cichlids, I like the rock setups, back in the day I had 55 and 90 setup with wall to wall lava rocks that works really good till they get about 8 to 10 inches then you'll either have to change the aquascape or get rid of some fish. I would go with a nice big driftwood piece as was already suggested as A vertical site breaker. I wouldn't go over board with taking fish out that have been living in relative piece, because I've found that when you take out fish into a more managable number for the dominant fish to sytematicaly eliminate the rest of of his tank mates. It is only the numbers and site breakers that allow your and my type of community (lol) to work. gl
