Good day everyone!

Sir David Attenborough is known to be a man of legendary status in the world of Zoology and responsible for developing a huge public interest in the natural world. His voice is iconic, his passion for nature has graced television screens for decades in a career spanning almost 70 years! His contributions have been praised worldwide and he is being immortalised with many species being names after him. Now, in the latest addition to the list, a new species of seasonal Killifish - Nothobranchius attenboroughi - has been described today and is named after the main man. Quite aptly so, look how magnificent these fish are!

This stunning fish hails from Tanzania and is among a group of 6 new species discovered and described in the newly published paper. One of my close fish Associates, Professor Dirk Bellstedt, was a main researcher on this project along with Béla Nagy, Brian R Watters, Pieter D. W. van der Merwe And Fenton P. D. Cotteril.

The article can be requested here: https://pfeil-verlag.de/en/publicat...-africa-with-descriptions-of-six-new-species/

I hope everyone else enjoys the beauty of this fish and appreciates the continued appreciation of Sir David Attenborough. Thanks for reading!
