^ :) its not the looks of dats, i think they are some of the most beautiful and striking freswater fish out there. its their behavior and attitude. too skittish for my tastes. maybe if i had a tank full of dats, but all the guys ive owned like to huddle in a corner pretty much most of the time. i cant deal with that, i need a fish thats out n about w/o being scared!!

trust me, if dats werent so timid id be all over them

Fair point... Some dats do behave that way, easily spooked. Most of my tigers behaved this way at first when introducedto new tank and mates. I have kept And still have, 3 tigers for bout 5 years now..... These ones are the most outgoing and active of all of them.

tigers can take ages to settle in....

wow.. nice tank.. my set up is pretty crazy too.. but my display tank is not here yet... i have all of them in 2x 75g grow out tank... heres a list of what i got so far and i think i need to trim out a bit: 3 orino pbass, 2 monos (might be a kelberi cuz all the spangles), 1 ocel, 4 armatus, 3 IT dats 3", 1 10"ornate bichir (all in one 75g).. all the fish range from 3-6".. FAIRLY PEACEFUL TANK SO FAR... NO OVER AGGRESSION.. my tank does not look pretty cuz of the brown algae.. but water is crystal clear...
on the other tank: 1 10" jardini (not aggressive.. at least not yet), 1 8" IT dat that picks on the jardini some times, and 2 lapradei about 12-13"...

i hope they will all fit in a 300-400g tank... i really would love to add an azul and a kelberi... and take out 1 mono, 1 orino, and the ocellaris...
