I got a treble caught in my back once and my buddy just yanked it out, I can't imagine what that guy must have been through.
Also, are bolt cutters a normal surgical tool? When I saw those I laughed a little.

I understand how he can get hooked because ive seen how they paddly the baits out with it resting in between their legs but 20/0 is just overkill. You go to PCB you seen them using 12/0 but not even on a whole bonito have i seen a 20/0.
 
OUCH! man that surgeon was brutal, hacking the guys calf up like that, must have hurt like hell.

He should have made 2 neat incisions strieght off the bat then clipped the top off the hook.

This is why i always squash the barbs down on all my lures and hooks with a pair of pliers that way if i do get hooked it will slide right out, also makes releasing fish allot easier.

Trying to yank a crank lure from being hooked on a log, I had the same happen. Only the hooks on my lure ended up buried into my side. Pretty embarrassing to show up to the emergency room with a lure hanging off your abdomen.
 
I once had a dog run through my line while I was baiting a hook. It went straight into my finger and pulled me a couple steps before tearing loose. Needless to say I was not happy with the dog.
I also knew a guy who somehow got a hook in his eye. He had to go to three ERs before anyone would touch it.
 
Mega hook lol. I have hooked myself several times. Best ever was when fly fishing in the cold, did not even know I had done it till the "Tree branch" I though I snagged traced the line back to my ear hahaha

That was freaking brutal, I watched the whole thing. Man that makes my stab wound look like nothing.
