A lot of teams with similar names have already change their names in the past. The diff is none of those are a racial slur

I guess I'm just thick skinned the "Chacago Hitmen" logo could be construed as offensive to italian Americans but it doesn't phase me in the least. I don't know one Irishmen and I know plenty, that think "The Fighting Irish" is derogatory towards the Irish. I guess it just depends on how snsative someone is or how much crap they want to try and stir up. I never considered the name as deragatory it's just the name of a team.
 
Irish isn't derogatory, red skin is a slur though (by definition of both words in any dictionary). To me its an obvious difference but I guess not since you're no dummy Tom.

I didn't mean Irish is deragotory but one could interpit it as insinuating they drink too much and get into fights, which would be. What about the Hitman logo are all italians gansters? None of it bothers me, what can I say.

I have no idea what the hitman logo is referencing to. Doesn't even seem to be specific to any race or culture anyways.

If push came to shove Norte Dame would just drop the fighting in the official name as the word Irish isn't a slur.
