I dont think anyone can say hes a premier QB but a serviceable QB can get you a ring. Otherwise all these "top tier" QBs would win it every year. And....if matt Ryan, joe flacco, tony romo, Mathew stafford, etc are getting paid, dalton deserves to be paid like a top tier too.

I personally say none of them should be paid like a top tier but if that's the current market, then dalton should be PAID

Only qb I would compare him to that tou mentioned is flacco imo the other work with less. I know Ryan and stafford have great wr's but imo they have no defense at all and have to carry their teams.... romo ryan and stafford ARE the reasons why their teams ate even competitive. Cinch is one of the more well rounded teams in the league and can compete even without dalton imo

Lol I hope you're right man. I lost faith in him last season. We should've whipped San Diego no excuse for giving up three turnovers by yourself against that bad of an opponent at home.

no matter how good a guy is bad days happen ,brett favre for all the hoopla, blew more games in the clutch than most any qb ever ...and he remains the media darling to this day ...speaking as a longtime nfl watcher (bradshaw ,staubach era)..be happy with a guy who consistently gives you a chance to win .and patiently wait for the next elway..I am a cardinal fan and I love carson palmer...why?....cause he 's not derrick anderson, or john beck...

top 20 is great actually,,,think about it for a sec...top 20 in ..THE ...WORLD... of all the guys out there...speaking as a college level type former athlete..it ain't easy to be that good...this guy blows that level away...no he won't wow you with big throws...but I will bet that he ends up with a decent (65%) career winning %,he's solid,,, theres 15 starting qb's in the league now (gabbert included)who are in the league cause of reputation or "guaranteed" money...a word of advice beware of being the franchise that falls in love with josh mccown ..he was here in az.. nice backup everybody loved him... he was good as a starter too ,,until you NEEDED a win,, then he SUCKED, every time

decent qb is what a team needs ..agreed .. big star is a bonus , but not the end all

Truer words have never been said.

I give dalton a pass. He lost to a good San Diego team that had been rolling and even beat the broncos late in the season. It's not like they lost to a horrific team. The game was honestly a toss up.....and let's be honest, they weren't going to win in the next round anyways

He's not top 10 but def top 20, I think any top 20 can win the Super Bowl with the right team. I've seen too many "not top tier" QBs win superbowls to be convinced that dalton is as bad as you guys act like he is. Do we need to revisit recent history? Russell Wilson. Joe flacco, Eli manning, Big Ben, etc etc. that's not even considering "not top tier" QBs that have had great winning records and deep playoff runs. Lay off my ginger!

I agree, look at last years number 1 qb(Manning)....he got creamed in the SB and the number 3(Romo) can't even get to the playoffs.

Note: The ranking is based on their performance last year.

Can't mention the world when saying top 20 is a good thing in the nfl all that means is your better than 12 other guys.

Dalton is a nice qb BUT put him on a team like ....det, dal, or buf, he would prob have gotten canned a long time ago
