I just wanted to post this story as a counter to the story Ecoli posted. No debate necessary. Just take in what this true native has to say. Second time I've heard of this definition

What I find equally interesting is how some Native American groups claim not to be offended by the team name.The link is new news to me but I would think that they would be aware of the gruesome history behind the term.

I personally would think it depends on what area of the country your tribe came from as well as generational gaps. The tribes were rather isolated, similar to tribal areas of Africa today....and if i didnt want a bitter angry kid i might not share these stories with them

That might work for you but I'm not aware of the lengths those people might go to protect their youth from the truth.It would seem to me that they would not be selective in teaching them their history,most groups aren't.The regional thing might have merit but then I would think the younger members of these groups would research and share their history.

That's exactly what it was with my family.
 
3 sides to every coin.I look at it like this.white peeps ain't white.most blacks ain't black.native americans don't have red skin and guess what? They aren't native american either.they are of asiatic origin. and another thing-It's a political correctness discussion which means there are alterior motives behind it. don't be a political tool.end of discussion.

Well, look at all the stories our parents and grandparents told us and look at all the people who walked around with a chip on their shoulder just gang banging and mad at the world. I'm sure theyre content with running their casinos and blending in nowadays lol

back to football- I have to agree with boc.nfc west is the best! you could make a case for all 4 teams. I like the afc north also. the afc east seems to be improving as well as the nfc south..
