Tried all types of different pellets even soaking in blood worm and garlic. My other 3 datnoids ate everything and my ngt just watched them.7 months without food is..
Anyway surely some alarms would have been ringing early on for you to take action and go for a different route.
Quite surprised that your NGt could survive that long regardless of the temptation seeing his tankmates hitting those pellets day in day out..
good luck I just got my fatf off live starved it for about 1 week and it finally taking tilapia. Going to try starving again to get on pellets in a month or so7 months of starvation trying to break off feeders.. damn that is commitment. I've been doing the same for over two months for my large gAtf... he's been taking chunks out of tankmates before attempting thawed marketprawn/loaches. Rip to your NGT, hoping mine makes the transition sooner than later..
Fish like the ngt or Juvie cichla or fire eels will starve to death if they don't get live foodsI feel like there was something else going on then....no animal just starves to death without some underlying factor...and to let it go 7 months wasn't a wise idea regardless. 1 month max before you start exploring new options....
I have a hard time believing that, most healthy animals won't starve if there is something available.Fish like the ngt or Juvie cichla or fire eels will starve to death if they don't get live foods
my first ngt, was doing great, until I decided to starve it to move to Pellets, in a tank where all fish would eat Pellets, this fish never ate Pellets, and starved itself to death.I have a hard time believing that, most healthy animals won't starve if there is something available.
craziness...never saw that happen, hopefully when I buy my fire eels I don't eat my words hahamy first ngt, was doing great, until I decided to starve it to move to Pellets, in a tank where all fish would eat Pellets, this fish never ate Pellets, and starved itself to death.
Even Juvie cichla would not eat Pellets, will eat only live fish, if starved too long will die
fire eels too, always have earthworms handy, and once they get used to eating earthworms from your hand, you can move them onto fillet, but Pellets, they just spit them back out.craziness...never saw that happen, hopefully when I buy my fire eels I don't eat my words haha
