Yes taxes are insane . Pros and cons to North vs South . In my case being in Miami now from Long Island . I love the year round GREAT fishing ,nature its unreal and the weather ,keeping fish out in yard all yr long,etc but the worse do nothing inept politicians that have ever set foot in NY blow away every politician here .
Here rep/dem means nothing all are an insult to the hard working people here and that I can not get used to.
The 2nd pic really does a good job of showing size. It's gotten to be a pain to land keepers in NY nowadays- I tossed back a pair at about 19 inches a few weeks ago when I was up there. Only 4 or 5 years ago, the size limit was 17.. they've been jacking it up ever since.
Druu - I do it several times a week, even though commercial guys can take 14" anf Jersey can take 16". It's a joke.

long island is insane im 22 years old and i tell ya it iss so hard and i got a wife and 2 kids things on the island is not looking good at all my rent in a 3 bedroom house is more then my parents levittown homes morgage
A neighbor here told me when I first moved here -
" In NY you pay a lot of money in property taxes,etc and you get little for it in Miami you pay alot of money in property taxes,etc and you get nothing for it every other state is in between" thus I guess your right its time to for you to leave NY
I have heard NC is nice and driving and breifly stopping there on the way here I found the people friendly and eating out compared to NY was real cheap(esp double bacon burgers with gravy at local diners lol)
I would be interested to know how you like it after being there a few months.
I run an office here and the Janitor is allways late no fault of his own its the bus that is supposed to stop by his house at 7:15 winds up showing up at 9 am . That certainly wouldnt be acceptable in Long Island but here the political parasites couldnt care less its a big joke to them and the media here is more concerned with "chupacabras" than these useless parasites.

People here I like its the perpetual fleecing of the people by the South Florida "Cosa Nostra" that I find unreal . Since none are coming here than yes your stress level will go down .
Fishing is GREAT here cant complain its to bad the fish arent running for office
