I get a good allowance from my parents. I don't have a steady income. I am going to try and get a job for mowing lawns this summer. I get my fish stuff from my parents. My mom owns daycares and my dad owns a bunch of restaurants.

This is very good setup. I like lots. When with one parent, bring stuff second parent got, and make show how second parent always knows what you need for your fish, how interested second parent is, in what you do. Then tell first parent what you need for fish this time around. I think you have very good opportunity here and ideal setup for keeping plenty rare and awesome fish!

But, I don't understand this section:

Are you saying allowance is only now and then, not regular? If so, I so sorry...tell them if only now and then, not help you feel enough safety, not help you sense enough security. Ask them make always regular for you, every week, never miss anytime.

I understand you maybe think get job add more money, but...be very careful doing this. Maybe you find, you get more money from job, then mom / dad make allowance reduction, so end up more work, same money! Plan very carefully for much safety and more money! If really ready for "independence", this is super trump card! If used correctly, can get you to own place in Singapore or Qatar or Switzerland, keep most amazing fish never will be legal in US! But big plans need plentiful time careful thought and clever strategy.
