Nickle sized chip

I have a similar "flake" on my 30g on the outside. It doesnt touch any silicone and I've never had a problem.

I cant really tell from your pic is there any cracks? Mine looks like when you breaks off a piece of obsidian like for arrow heads very shallow smooth no cracks.

There are no cracks, just the scalloped chip. Went to the LFS today and the guy gave me some tank silicone to patch it up and said to just squirt some under the loose flap of glass and just do a good job of covering the whole thing. He even said to not worry about filling it under the chip its self. I guess he had a 90G with a MUCH worse chip than mine further down the tank and it has held up just fine.
