A few years ago I had to get a similiar situation straghtened out so I could register to vote. The lady at the FBI told me it could stem from that because alot of times the state will update the error on their end but not forward it to the feds! :irked:Now I have to go through all the BS paper work which inlcudes sending in fingerprints to the FBI. Ive been told it could take 60+ days to get this straightened out! As soon as I do I am NEVER buying a firearm from a dealer again. Only private individuals for no paper trail. yep gotta love texas, we're still more independent here. however i do not buy my guns from a dealer, private only and mexico is only 2 and half hours away.
 
Isn't it illegal to buy from a "private" dealer? (never bought a gun before)

i know it's not in texas, as far as other states and their laws i can't comment
 
Oh how I love my "CHL". I live in Texas and for the last several months at the Gun show's their selling guns out the butt. Buying guns from private owner is still legal here. We look at it like this " You have the gun and I have the money, I'll take it"

Oh ok. For some reason I would imagine it would be illegal...
 
I cant speak for other states either but its perfectly legal here in KY to buy from a private individual.

I can get my money back but I really doubt Id be able to buy the same two rifles for the same price by the time I get this straightened out.

To top it all off, I am really really hoping to buy a full auto MAC-10 soon.

Oscarluvr, to clarify, my state has significantly more relaxed gun laws then Texas even ;)
