Is the concern of feeding nightcrawlers just due to the possibility of denying prepared foods?

That makes prefect sense!
Most that would be taking care of them for me actually think the pellets are far worse smelling and disgusting compared to worms though

Try reducing the no of black bar dollars. 20 is alot and they will eat most of the food.

sigh, not the suggestion I wanted to hear but knew it was part of the problem.
The black bars take a few pieces of food when feeding the good stuff but there is still some that hits the substrate for the rays but doesn't stay long enough for the rays to realize they aren't getting fed anything else. The rays just hover over it all and then ignore it.
I have one taking tilapia filets now so maybe it will teach the others to take prepared foods as well.
Looks like a few days of fasting and a second ray eating tilapia has helped the other realize food is food!
