I like this shot edited the way you have done. My only thing about it is now though, it just "looks" like someone has played about with it. Something about it doesn't seem real. The saturation and the sky. I do like it though!

Yeah, there is some shots that can be perfect without editing. Like adding a Polarized filter ( will help get bluer skis and bluer water), Time of day, lens and so on. But, you work with what you got and edit later. But, I agree with you that some photos look over done, not to much done to it and so on. Its all of the matter of personal preference and what you like in pictures. I like blue skis, green grass, etc....bright colors attracts me to pictures.
