you read the comments? people trying to talk like they know something.... pshaw I had a nile and have had many large snakes, inch for in the nile is way more bad ass when it comes down to it teeth and claws, man and usually temper to match!

Appearantly not!

That wasn't even a full grown retic - reticulated pythons can get up to 20 ft and over 300 lbs...

Its interesting to see that snakes can utilize constriction for both offense (feeding) and defense (as shown in the this video - the nile was obviously hunting the python).

Smaller pythons don't stand a chance against larger monitors, but it looks like pound for pound, the python is king!

Wait elevatethis, I'm no snake expert, but aren't reticulateds from southeast asia? That has to be an african rock python or something.

You're right...I honestly couldn't tell by that video if it were a retic or a af rock...I just guess Retic because it was swimming - african rock pythons are mainly terrestrial.

I'll check out the video again to get a better ID...

Either way...ARPs grow to similar size and are just africa's version of a large constrictor. Either snake, same outcome IMO ;)

Cool, I thought so. Have you ever seen this photo that was going around on the web not too long ago that shows a huge african rock python that supposely ate someone? It's probably a hoax, but some of these big constrictors could easily eat a human. I'll have to see if I can find it.
