Mat, you're right - they're not really all that rare, just meaner than hell.

I wouldn't put a polystigma in with a livingstoni. They are very similar both in melanin and adult coloration and will likely wreck each other.

I got a 3" fusco and boy is it mean. It chases everyone except the electric blue ahli and the comps. Mine is just starting to show some color. They get big and mean. Good luck with yours.

I have 3 males in 265g. The dominate of the three is about 8" and the other two are about 6". The sub-dominate males are on the smaller side compared to everything else in the tank, and the dominate male has his area but he is diffidently not aggressive. My borleyi is far more aggressive. I heard the fusco's get meaner as they get bigger though. Here is a picture of him about six months ago. Recently I haven't been able to get a good picture of the dominate male.

i have a 6-7" male in my 10ft tank, nice looking fish. make sure you remove your small fish or you will find them in his mouth.
