Hello People.
When I came home this evening after work I noticed one of my female Nimbochromis Livingstonii was ready to lay eggs.
So I put her along with a male in a seperate aqaurium so they could do their business without being interrupted by other fish.
The Nimbochromis Livingstonii male usually only coulours at the moment of breeding so I will post some of these pictures as well.
This is the male 10 minutes before the breeding event
The male just found out here that there is a willing female in the aquarium
Here the male is courting the female to the chosen breeding place
The actual breeding itself
The female taking eggs into her mouth(Malawi's are mouthbreeding cichlids)
(notice the egg about to be taken into the mouth(on her lip on the photo))
The fertilisation of the eggs in the mouth
It should take about 3 weeks for the female to hatch the eggs and let the young fish loose for the first time..
(sorry about all the editing I am a bit clumsy with linking to other sites)
