Nine Spot ShovelNose?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
going to pick up cat tonight, will post pics when I get home...

I was just looking at the temp range for this guy and it's 68-71* F

My bass tank is at 86-87*F will this cat die if I put him in with this temp of water?

I could have sworn that the LFS water was warmer than 71* F.

he's in the tank, the bass are giving him an interested look once in a while but I think he's just big enough to keep out of their mouths...

It looks kind of like a small Hemisorubim Platyrhynchos, but I'm not positive.
thats exactly what it is lucky i wan't one so bad i would pay that much for one just because i wan't one bad not sure if its a good price never seen one for sale

they like there water on the cooler side 86-87 would be to hot for them i'm not a cichlia expert but i think p bass will do fine in water a little cooler then that if you wan't to keep them together i'd go for water around 80F but that may be too warm even also the P bass will most likely out grow it they grow pretty damn fast and get big

OK so the spotted shovelnose has been wit my bass for a few weeks and seems to be one of the family now...

When moved them to the new tank the bass and the cat would hand togther at times (for comfort?) I'll take a pic the next time they are all sleeping together...
