Nipping leporinus

Thats what leporinus do. They are fin nipping murderous bastards. I had one that killed a lot of little grow out cichlids that I was keeping. It died.

Had three in the past, they killed cichlids (africans, CA, parrots), puffers, big goldfish and even plecos. I was forced to rehouse the last one in a 10gal tank. It lived in that tank for a year till it jumped out. No wondered why my LFS sell them cheaper at $5 and they are already adults.

They get pretty big, so how did you get one in a 10g? They get 10-12". I had a 10"er kill its self by getting spooked and hitting the side of the tank in a 75g. Mine wasn't bad and I had a firemouth chase it all of the time.

The last one was 10" but it was only one fish in a 10gal and I keep up with the water changes. I can't return it to the lfs and nobody wants him so I'm stuck with this fish. Good thing is that I have lots of plastic plants and a driftwood to keep it calm down.
