nitrate filter

I would like two set up a kind of nitrate filter on my 135g. I was wondering if it would work if I put a split in the line afer the wain filter and reduced the flow and then pump that in to a nother chamber with bio media in it would this work? I wast hinking of a flow rate of 1 drop per second.


I do have nitrate filter on a smaller tank that I made with sulfer media in it. But I am still a little ifee on the idea of useing sulfer.

How did you build your other one?

Nitrate reactors use anerobic bacteria so your going to have to remove the oxygen from the water first, usually by alot of bio-madia filtration before it.

I do have a lot of bio media before the bio chamber I have air check valve on my last bio filter and have never had any air in it so I think I sound be good with that



my other one has two chambers the first one is filled with sulfer beads and the other one is filled with calcium and carbonate
