will do JoeDizzleMPLS with the wc's but i also had the problem of my p's busting up the A.swords that i put in there so i eventually took them out lol
swords are beautiful plants, but for some reason, alot of piranhas like to destroy them. you can always try plants that don't get as tall or that don't have huge leaves like the swords do (apparently that is very inviting to piranhas, haha). cryptocorynes java fern, anubias... there are a ton i could suggest that work very well with piranhas and low light, if you wanna try em out, just let me know.

thanx 4 all your knowledge Joe....as 4 my normal water change schedule, I usally do a 30% change and a gravel vac at the first weekend of every month (is this alright or should i do more?) and check all my params twice a month. I just been doing a lot more lately since the spike and after today's wc...everything is all back to normal:headbang2. I'll let ya know if I wanna get back into the plants again. Thanks to everybody on MFK for all the suggestions and help:grinno:

yeah, you're definitely gonna want to do larger, more frequent water changes. most piranha keepers do weekly 50% water changes or multiple smaller water changes within the week, i do a 50% change once a week in my overstocked mixed shoal tank, but it is also pretty heavily planted, so my plants eat up alot of the nitrates and other junk in the water. i do weekly 25% changes on all of my solo serra tanks. i would recommend you do 50% weekly water changes since you have a big tank and a bunch of messy little natts.

testing your water on a regular basis is also a good habit to have, i test at least once a week, i know alot of people don't test that much, but i don't like losing fish, so i figure five minutes a week on testing my water isn't that much of a hassle.
