nitrate

why cant i get my nitrate down?
the nitrite and ammonia are good but my nitrate just wont come down...
i've do 3 WC in 4day and it still up there at 15-20ppm......
im funing a 405 and a ac50 on a 60 that has a 4"motoro and 4-4"tigs and 3 small red heads........

and will is kill my ray?.....

I would do back to back 50% water changes until it comes down.

ok just tested my tap water and is nirate at 10ppm....so i found the problon now what should i do.....if the water i do WC has high nitrate? buy water?....or is there some filter i can but on that filter out the ritrate?

idk about rays, but i thought its okay if your nitrATE is up a little, its nitrITE that you need to worry if it goes up. but like i said i dk about water perms for rays..

NitrATE in small amounts will not hurt your rays. I have had the nitrATE go up to 50PPM and the rays seem fine. Just make sure you are doing enough WC.

BTW, getting a bigger tank may help with the nitrATE. You will also need to upgrade the tank in a year or so.

FYI peope have and breed rays in nitirate over 100ppm... i wouldnt worry about it

MINE IS USUALLY CLOSE TO THAT HIGH... Richard Ross says up to 200-300 until you notice them not eating etc.
