Nitrate ?

Then why do they sell it, if it's useless ?

Allot people say that the bacteria Ian the same as what is found in our tanks... I have no idea.... but I used it and still have nitrites so imo it doesn't work... but it worked for you and others in this site so like I said maybe I had a bottle from a bad batch... may try it again on a tank I am setting up now

well the Asian RTC is alive and well. so I added the lima-shovelnose cat yesterday. seems to be doing just fine. eating like normal, very easy transfer. it practically swam into the net. if all is well my 2 bichirs are going next.

be cause if it says it works, people will buy it. I tried when i first started keeping fish myself, why? be couse it said it would jump my cycle and make my tank Chrystal clear. stuff stank, cycle still took almost 8 weeks. and did not stop the bacteria bloom you experience when cycling up a tank for the first 2 or 3 weeks.

I guess I will not waste my money next time. but now I have pot scrubbies in all 4 of my tanks so if I need to jump start a new tank ill take em from my tanks.

using seeded media the best and only way i know to jump start or instant cycle a tank. using some seeded filter media can let you stock small and build up, or put a small fish in a large tank thats going to get big, using fully seeded filters will instant cycle the tank, the term cycled tank a bit of a misnomer, you are actually cycling your filters. does the bacteria on all oxygenated surfaces of the tank count twords the nitrate cycle? sure it does, but minuscule to your filters. if they made that big a dif you would not need bio filtration, just mechanical.

google SeaChem matrix. I use in all my tanks. pot scrubbers are ok, and you can peal some off from a seeded filter to put in anouther. but can do the same with a tray of matrix from a 4 stage canister. or bag from a HoB like a AC110
