Rhodes the tank already cycled a while back, with my penguin 350 filter on it. The 350 has been running all along the way. Why would i get a second cycle?

buy a CYCLE is say it will cycle your tank in a week. I have used it before and it seems to work. also if you put the fish with ich in a salt water solution with 3 tablespoons for every gallon and let him soak for an hour and then put it back in your tank. by the end of the treatment most or all of the ich should be gone and add some salt to your tank about 1 tablespoon for every 5 gallons. All salt used should be non iodized you can buy it at any grocery store. Also do not clean your filters for a while so they have a cance to grow the bacteria.

as long as you don't add to much. If you do the stonger solution it really work great I have used it many times unless the fish is really weak. Also turn the tempature up slowly to at least 86 f that will make the ichs life cylcle faster and less intense. If your fish can handle 89 f water for a couple days that will also kill ich. With the salt only replace it for the amount of water that you change out cause the salt doesn't evaporate. The salt also doesn't have to be aquarium salt it can be non-iodized from the store it allot cheaper.

Not sure if this is right or wrong but what I have done in the past is.... Bigger water changes... I have had a couple times where one of my 75's spiked for whatever reason... I would do a partial (50%) and in a matter of a couple days it was spiking... So I did a HUGE water change and that helped me big time... AAAAaaaaand patience... I actually have done it too all of my tanks...

and when you do change the water... make sure to vacuum just the top of the gravel... left over food can cause your problem...

If this tank is the same 46 gallon bowfront you have in your post "My new 46 gallon bowfront" then I don't know how you can say the tank has been cycled for some time since that post is dated March 22 and you're saying in that post you are currently cycling it. That's not even a month and it takes most of us a least a month if not 6 weeks to cycle a tank unless we've used established media or a bacteria starter like Dr. Tim's One and Only or Tetra Safestart.
