Nitrites are up....need some advice please

Do you have nowhere to move these fish to? Doing a water change/adding additives will interrupt the cycle. If you have anywhere to move fish, I'd do it... the cycle seems less than a week from finished. Otherwise, there's no choice but to change water. GL.

Nope, nowhere to move them. I have an empty 55 gallon, but I would have to set it up and let it cycle which would take too long obviously. How long do you think it will take my tank to finish its cycle with me doing 35% water changes twice a day??

It takes at least 2 weeks to properly cycle with no additives. Plan on 4 weeks so you aren't disappointed. Keep up the WC's & it will cycle as quickly as possible.

I'm now up to three 50% water changes a day to keep my nitrites below 0.5 ppm...am I over-doing it with the water changes?? I know having any measurable nitrites in the tank is bad for fish but is there a tolerable level I can allow until my tank has fully cycled??

Can anybody answer these questions please?? I'm going through prime like crazy and I would like to know if my tank is ever going to cycle or if I'm just wasting my time and money.
