Thanks guys. I was staring at an empty tank & my wife was starting to get a little concerned so I had to get something! LOL! The tigers are a little bigger than I wanted to get but I didn't pass them up.

Great! I wanted to buy something else today but not fish, so I went for live plants. They will be my next informal education. The swords roots happened to be cleaned & rinsed today by the store. The girl there said they would not do well in normal sand because how heavy the sand is the roots would have difficulty spreading, but she thought they may be fine in pool filter sand. Does anyone else have an opinion about this? Here is a pic after I added the swords. I put them in a calm area below the circulation pump & next to the window for sunlight while I am away.

Haven't had issues in sand. That's pool filter sand and black diamond.. Cichla may pick on them a bit at first but grow used to them and your good
