i had thought about crossing boxers and a bulldog too, but i have neither one at the moment or the time so eventually but swee idea tho.
Not my idea.. Nor yours.. But I think in this case, this particular breeding will have a great outcome. Brayson, my boxer has CRAZY energy, like a lot of boxers. He's also got crazy muscle definition and athleticism. He can jump vertically, with his back still horizontal with the ground and come eye to eye with me.. I'm 6'1". IMO he has too much energy.
The ambull mother of the bully boxers has TONS of prey drive. She LOVES working a sleeve, yet she can go from biting the HELL out of a sleeve to laying or playing with my daughter. It's almost unreal. She's got a great head on her.. BRAIN that is. I am hoping these pups can hold and unleash at will the boxer's energy, but have the temperament to put it away when they need to. Either when they're crated at night as a family pet or when they're playing with children.
The bulldog though, is quite small. So I am wanting to put my pick female to my Fatty 2x4 for some structure and size, then to a PARTICULAR bordeaux (A guy I met recently through other business).. for MORE size and protective nature. This will create a BANDOGGE. A GREAT PACKAGE.
My current pure bulldogs are a house dog breeding. I have one placed to see what turns out. This is a cross between a high drive, protection working, possible catch dog and a lap dog with great conformation. Hoping for great family protection, but dogs that love just laying and being loved by their families.
I haven't been breeding for 30 years, although I have interviewed SEVERAL long time "top" bulldog breeders (FOR SCHOOL.. No less..) about many aspects of breeding. I feel I have a lot to learn and I am doing my best to learn through more through what I have been taught by the best.
So there it is.. Almost all of it.. To get closer to everything, I LOVE THESE DOGS. I have 8..... yes 8... HOUSE DOGS.
