NLS is pissing me OFF!!!!

I bought NLS the other week and all my fish chew on it for a couple minutes and most of the food comes out of their gills!
They don't do this to hikari? Not only is NLS making my water dirty, it is also wasting my MONEY:swear:
 
Try a smaller pellet. I feed most of my fish 1 or 2mm pellets. If they are chewing them they are too large.
 
There is a thread on here which seems most people rate nls better than hakari doesnt seem like im going to convert
 
I use omega one & my fish take them with no food coming out the gills, try that or smaller pellets. I also don't presoak

I agree. Smaller pellets are quickly eaten with little to no chewing involved. Larger pellets will leave more waste behind because so much is expelled through the gills. I use 2mm NLS with no waste or problems. Also you may be feeding to frequently (no matter what brand). A little food twice a day is more than enough. I won't get into the debate that's sure to come but I hope this helps.
 
How big are your fish? If your fish are "chewing" the pellets and expelling the pellet through their gills, that means the pellets are too big. If your fish is 5" or less, get the 1mm kind. 6"-11" get the 2mm, and for 12"+ fish, get 3mm. My fish all swallow the NLS like its their last meal. NLS isn't wasting your money, YOU are wasting your own money. They do also have a policy where if you're not satisfied with their product you could return it and get a refund.
 
You're feeding pellets that are too big. NLS is more dense than other foods IME. Switch to a smaller size. Also, it can take them a bit to adjust to a harder pellet.
