nls stinks!!

Open some massivore pellets and you will appreciate NLS for the rest of your life

LOL, exactly.

The regular NLS does not have a heavy garlic smell, but it does smell strongly of krill, which IMO can also be a rather offensive odor to some folks. Neither bother me in the least. :)

All processed Fisk food stinks to some degree, but damn I hate when I forget and leave the seal on my 2.2lb bags of massivore open. The back room smells like I forgot to take out the trash for days!
That stuff has to be the worst

I agree with rd I use nls flake, sinking and float and mostly smell the krill

Maybe I just like the smell of garlic. I notice the smell when i open the container or when I'm handling it, but haven't had it leave any lingering odor...but it doesn't get to sit in the water long, my fish gulp it down as fast as it hits the tanks.

I don't mind the smell, as most of us guys wouldn't, being that the NLS and Hikari pellets are the best for most of our fish, but I too have to bend to the wife's disdain for the odor. So I switched to a more vegetable based pellets like the Hikari Cichlid Excel or Southern Delight variety and only one feeding a week use the Massivore or NLS.

Ditto, which is probably why my wife has never complained of the smell, because there isn't any. :)

Yeah stuff stinks, the threa a anyways. I started alt. the food and feeding xtreme with a mix of omega 1 shrimp pellets and don't have much of a smell. Now when I open the area where the NLS is stored, that stinks!

For those that aren't familiar with the Thera A product, the following is from the creator himself; Thera A is a non-medicated food that contains a mega dose of allicin compound which is found in garlic.

So yeah, no kidding it smells like garlic. Then add krill to the mix, and you have the potential for a stink bomb with the TheraA. Personally I would be more worried about feeding my fish food that didn't stink. Krill based food should stink like krill, shrimp based food should stink like shrimp, food with garlic should have an odor of garlic, etc-etc. If they don't you are paying for fluff, not what's shown on the label.

RD I have to ask do you receive compensation from NLS? Every post on MFK that mentions this fish food you are right there . No offense just curious ?

Negative, nor do I from Seachem, whose products I also constantly comment about, and/or highly recommend. I respond to a lot of stupid questions about those products too. Ditto to the different probiotic products that I mention & recommend on a regular basis, and/or any other quality products found in the aquatic industry. I don't even get a Xmas card .......

BTW - I just did a search for NLS, and there are numerous discussions that have taken place recently where this product is apparently mentioned that I have not posted in. You might want to check your facts next time, because obviously I don't comment in *every* post on MFK that mentions this food.
