  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I switched all my fish over to Xtreme aquatic foods which has a better ingredient list than both hikari and nls i use the big fella and monster varieties

Anyone else use xtreme? I ordered some big fella and want to know if it is any good...it costs less than both nls and hikari

I feed my fish NLS, Omega one, and Hikari food products, along with other brands. IMO fish should have a varied selection:)

Both my fish and I like Xtreme. I use Big Fella and Monster. I don't like the flakes, though. They are too thin and break into powder easily. It took me almost a year to go through a 4 lb bucket of NLS. My bichirs and lungfish were the only thing that would eat it. Of course those fish will eat anything. I would feed more Massivore, but it is too expensive to use as a staple. Most fish take right to the Xtreme. I find it to give the best bang for the buck. I agree on paper, NLS is a better food, it is just to difficult to get fish to eat it. I only use sinking foods since I have overflows in all of my tanks and I don't like food ending up in the filter socks.

its awesome, I've tried every kind of high end food out there and extreme seems to be the best, i perfer it over dainchini, hikari, and nls. and they have a hell of a lot of variety, community crave flakes is what i use on all my small tanks, and the big ones get big fella sinking and oscar loves the monster pellets. those monster pellets are especially good because they will distract an oscar while the other fish eat smaller pellets.

reason hikari is like crack to fish is that it has MSG flavor enhancer.
as do millions of american chinese restaurants ;-)

I'm Interested, what's your source for this claim?
