No center brace

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My 55 has no center brace. The person who had it before me (I got it off craigslist) said he's used it for fish and reptiles so I assume he must've had it full at one point for the fish. I've no idea how thick the glass is though.

they manufacture 55g terrariums without center braces. they can hold a full tank of water but it is not recommended. any bump rattle or shake can trigger a big wet mess. fill at your own risk!!!

I don't know how to answer that one- depends on the condition of the silcone, and go over to lessons learned section for people who didn't use a brace though

the silicone is in great condition, i measured the glass thickness and it is 3/8 and NOT 1/4. However im still a lil ify on if i should use it. i am leaning on putting it on cl and get one that has a center brace. ill feel a lil better about it. just dont want to stock it then to come home with a broken tank. lol

totally agree.

im going to go ahead and put it on cl with another 55g thats all scratched baddly, makes a good grow out tank or something like it. then taking the money between the 2 tanks and putting it toward another 75g or maybe even bigger. muahahahaha :D
