It was a really easy fix. I drained the tank completely and then used masking tape to hold the brace (a 6x18x1/4" piece of glass) in place while the silicone cured. Before the brace the tank bowed out a good 1/2", after the brace the bowing was negligible.
I did this sometime around 1990/91 (I still have the tank in my parents barn), so no photos. In the pre-digital age not many people were taking pictures of their aquarium projects...
