No common sense at the LFS-I'm pissed

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I went to an lfs a few towns away and rescued some trade in fish. I got an rtc/tsn and a spotted gar that was in together in a 20g tank. They were not moving--sulking at the bottom--and looked sad. I had to have them both. They are doing much better now after 3 weeks in aquariums they can move around in.
Lfs move fish--nature of the beast I suppose.. I know how you feel but I can't rescue them all.

P.S. These pics are the night I picked them up.

I always check a place out first ... I went to an LFS recently because I wanted to trade in some fish, but after seeing the conditions of the fish they already had, I changed my mind ... this was a place where fish go to die ...

They did that when I sold the LFS around a here 20+ convict cichlids. Alot of them were rounding an inch and this lady stuck all of them in a 10 gal with 10 convict cichlids that were already in there. Needless to say I can back a few days later to see some of mine dead at the bottom of the tank. It made me soo mad. And yet they wont hire me? haha I know alot more then 90% of the people that work there. But whatever. Thats why they have a full grown Clown Knife Fish in a 75gal along with a 9inch pleco and a foot long catfish. Idiots.

sorry for my rant, but I completely know how you feel.
I wouldn't want to work for a place like that anyway...

They can't hire knowledgeable, caring people, then they wouldn't sell a 5 gallon tank with 6 common goldfish, a handful of convicts and a baby common pleco! The more fish they sell that die, means more fish they sell in the future to that same person!

fish stores are only meant to hold fish until they are bought.. ideal stocking levels are much different..

I definitely understand that but 25 3" red devils in a 15 gallon? They had a larger tank to put them in. And he said he would!

I'd be pissed too with the time and effort you put into raising them, but at least he paid for them..........
