NO IDEA what to feed my ropefish

I have had my rope fish for a couple years now but i am not exactly sure what he has been eating.. i put bottom feeder tablets in his take for him and my leopard cactus pleco (who i have the same problem with) but i never see him eating any of the tablets. the trumpet snails i have in the tank always seem to eat it up before he gets the chance to, could he be eating them?

Also, i have put 3 very young molly's in the tank (size of his head) hoping he would eat them, but he doesnt even look at them. i thought live food would be a sure thing, do they just take awhile to catch one?

any suggestions for other foods i should try feeding to my ropefish would also be appreciated.

You could try; shrimp, tilapia, and bloodworms..

Maybe you could try some earthworms or night crawler chunks? Few bottom feeders can resist live worms!

One of my Ropes only eats Blood Worms, Tilapia, and SilverSides. My other one eats everything stated before along with pellets.

Mine get New Life Spectrum pellets (they shoot out to eat as soon as they hit the water), shrimp, bloodworms, mysis shrimp, earthworms, smelt, and the occasional frog.
You might want to try adding another rope or two. They are much more active when kept in groups.

thanks for all the suggestions.

u want to get some females for him but ropefish arent that common in my lfs unfortunatly.... i actually wanted to make sure he wasnt only eating the snails so that i can take them out when i get a female and hope for some eggs

From what I heard Ropefish are some what hard to breed.

Mine eats blood worms, beef heart, shrimp, shrimp pellets, flakes, pretty much anything I put in the tank.. but he's really slow.. so I gotta baby him a little.. problem is, he hasn't grown much at all.. so I wonder if this diet isn't right.. I'll probably try another buddy for him if you guys say it helps..
