I hear ya, were so lucky to live in America where this doesn't happen too much.
I spent the past summer in Ulaanbaatar Mongilia. Power and Water are all goverment controlled. Power and water outtages were a daily thing there.
I was working as a Chef and let me tell you cooking by candle light with no exhast fans and no way to wash your hands or dishes for hours really sucks.
I would get so fustrated.
Hot water outtages would rotate blocks through out the city all summer long. So when your block was out you would be taking icy showers for a few weeks.
We would joke that we were in training and the icy showers were making us really tuff.
LOL
fun times....

. and the rest of my family isnt really into the whole reptile thing lol. they stayed pretty warm. i used alot of hand warmers lol. they lasted for about 10 hours a peice. so i was constantly rotating them in and out. i had a t-shirt that i was using for the big igg. i would fill it up and let him lay on it. he also had ample time around the one heater. lucky for me it was right outside where my room is. so all my herps stayed pretty warm. and about the turt thing. well lets just say ive been looking around. but im more of a land turtle type of person. i had a box turtle when i was about 5 and he was great. another may be in the works
