Did some measuring with my stand for my 140 gallon and a fluval fx5 just wont fit! :(
I'd like to take a poll to see what people think I should do. I have two openings to choose from, the side doors which are (11Wx20.5H) and the middle doors which are (14.25Wx20.5H). Obviously I cannot run a fx5 due to the width and a Rena XP4 requires 26 inches of clearance for the tubes. I have 22 inches of clearancein the back of the stand. As you can see this is getting tight and complicated. I'll also be running a aquamaster 600gph hob too. :nilly: Help!....as I need to order this before the holidays.

My 125 stand did not fit the FX5 through the doors. But the opening in the back did so now I am making some new doors for the back of the stand.

so now the front is the back and the back is the front.

Turned out to be a long process due to having to refurb the whole stand.....sand, pre-stain, stain, poly urathane........ make new doors..........

If the back of your stand does not allow for the width of the fx5 I would see about modifying or making a new one.

it would be worth making a new stand b/c fx5's are my favorite filter so.......

OHF-overhaed filter. They can house a ton of bio media. and they don't need pumps that are very strong.

I thought the FX5 was the filter of choice, little did I know.

I still like them:D

must not've read the OP for this poll...

I'd go with two xp3s

As much as I'd like to have an fx5 I'm not about to tear down a brand new stand and rebuild it. I'm starting to lean towards the two xp3's. Plus, that would give good filtration at both ends of the tank and I could run the HOB in the midde :naughty:.
