That is an option but just doesn't seem right. I like things neat, organized, and professional looking. Putting an fx5 to the side of the tank almost yells out, "thrown together" to me, no offense. I'm leaning towards two Rena XP3's plus I can order (2) 200 W Rena smart heaters that attatch to the top of the Rena filters :headbang2

mate get an fluvals 405!!
they have bigger flow rate, more litres, better looking, more technical, have good pre filters and they are cheaper and spare parts are easy to get.

i have two fluvals 405 and one rena xp3 and i hate rena xp3,it so annoying to start it and i found it louder than fluvals.

If the stand is open-bottomed, elevating the stand onto 4x4s or semi-round fence rails will provide the height needed to fit the FX5. I did this on a 150 stand. I used SS angle brackets to join the rails into a rectangle of equal dimensions as the stand bottom. Then, stained and varathaned the rails to match the stand. Finally, I used SS 1/4"x3" wood screws to affix the stand bottom to the rails. Overall, the rails wound up looking like they were part of the original stand construction. An unintentional bonus was that the riser brought the tank bottom level up to the chair back height on the dining set. So, there was an unobstructed view of the tank from the far side of the table.

I went ahead and ordered two of the rena xp3's for the tank along with two rena 300W smart heaters. I got a pretty good deal through dr.fostersmith by finding a link on this site for only $109 a piece, along with a $5 off coupon, so I saved a bundle there. The nice part about the heaters is that they will mount outside of the tank, inline with the filters, I can't wait to get this all set up! I gotta get some updated pictures of the tank. Also put some pieces of driftwood in today.

Im a hardcore Rena fan :) Im running 2XP3s and an XP4 on my 150G...and an XP3 on my 55G. Id love to have one on my 100G but its sitting on a dresser and where it is there isnt anyway to put one on it...so its HOBs for it. Thats a killer price on the XP3s everywhere I see them now theyre atleast 150bucks each, congrats!
