I lol every time I see this commercial, and it pretty much sums up cats for me.
Lol, I love it!
Hey, I joke about it but I love cats as well as dogs. And they allow folks who live in condos and apartments to care for an animal which is well suited to that lifestyle and doesn't need to go outside.
But a cat would always be, IMHO, a pet I would have only if I couldn't properly provide for a dog. One of the best things about rural life is the space it allows for dogs...
big dogs...to run and play and behave like...well, like dogs.
Having gotten a bit older and slower, I now have only one dog, but have usually owned several simultaneously over the years. When my soon-to-be wife and I bought our first country home, I was enthused about getting dogs after several benighted years of not owning any myself. Sharon smiled and said "Oh, sure, I'd love to get a dog!" Astonishingly, I had become involved with a girl who had never had a dog while growing up; I still can't figure out how that happened.
I replied "ZZZ". She looked at me, brow furrowed, puzzled. "Huh?"
I repeated "ZZZ"; she still didn't get it. I finally said slowly "I want dogZZZ".
She was a bit uncertain about that, but it took her about a week of ownership of our first country pup to switch over from cat person...to dog person. Personal growth in action.
