it was ALL brought upon himself, he was a very beloved sports figure on cleveland. you only really sensed animosity among fans when it was a debate on kobe vs lebron,

this is different. alot of people don't care that he left cleveland, they do care HOW he went about it and what he said AFTER he did it. First....he hamstrung 3 teams (new york, chicago, new jersey automatically turns off some huge fan bases), including the team that had drafted him and been his home for 7 years. he couldn't have the courtesy of giving cleveland the heads up and say i'm not coming back, spend your money elsewhere? Cleveland made trades every year he was there to improve the roster, the problem the GM was running into the last 2-3 years of lebrons run in cleveland was free agents would ask them is lebron coming back and the team could not give them a straight answers. There are good role players that went to cleveland and thought about signing but were told you have to ask lebron himself and lebron would not answer them either. you want to blame the team you play for for not being able to improve the team (best record in the league 2 years in a row btw) when free agents won't come to the team because they don't want to be stuck there if lebron leaves? it's his OWN damn fault they coudln't get free agents.

That's 2 good reasons to hate him. Then the man goes on and promises 8 CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR MIAMI the day after he announces to the world he's going to miami? like the fans of the rest of the teams in the league are just suppose to lay down for miami over the next decade and let them dominate the league? That's when the dislike went to a whole new level. when he promised 8 championships for miami. as a laker fan that wants quite a few more championships, how can i root for a guy who's promising that we won't get anymore in the next 10 years?

yes lebron is being hated on like no other athlete in my life time, only thing close is the scorn bonds use to get and the way we treat A Rod but it's because he brought it upon himself with his arrogance and me first persona. it's kind of odd because alot of people loved the miami team of the late 90s and early 2000s (hardaway, alonzo, eddie house, rickey davis, anthony mason, eddie jones and later shaq, gary payton, wade etc etc) but rooted against this year's edition. it's the lebron factor, nothing more, nothing less

he's had that tattoo since he was like 18 so i don't count it as a reason to hate on him but i can see how it'd turn alot of people off. he got that tattoo AFTER sports illustrated put him on the cover with the title The Chosen 1 while he was still in high school. i did alot of stupid stuff when i was 18 too. guess he shouldn't have believed his own hype but i'd say he was chosen, most physically gifted basketball player ever, doesn't make you the best though. Vince carter was physically amazing too and it amounted to squat.


So the city of dallas just announced today as lebron james day, everyone gets to leave work 12 minutes early!

ps, since we're talking about that tatt, did anyone see his first car while he was still in high school? h2 hummer with king james all over the interior. Dude is only a year younger then me and it literally feels like i've grown up with him, remember hearing about him and seeing him during my own high school playing days

man, about vince carter, dude, i blame tracy mcgravy. i feel bad for vince. his cousin didn't wanna share the spotlight, he didnt' like vince coming into his house and get all the attention taken away, so he left. that very next season or the next if my memory serves, bucks didn't make it to the playoffs, and toronto did. if only vince had hit that 3 against philly, it would've been the raptors getting swept by LA that year and not the 76ers

I think LJ's a self-centered d-bag who needs a good dose of humility. He's all talk and he's proven it by not bringing his A-game to the SHOW. The HEAT even produced a short video that was aired during the finals suggesting LJ was on the same level of greatness as MJ. GIVE ME A BREAK! He shouldn't be getting any attention over losing to Dallas. Dirk, J Kidd, Barea, Terry should be getting the attention.

eh, negative popularity does not bring in the endorsement deals. you realize the man's goal is to be the first (well now he can only be the second, since tiger has officially done it) athlete to earn a billion dollars? yes it's a trending topic right now and he's a polvarizing figure but his great marketing plan of lebron james the brand (similar to the jordan brand with nike) has taken a hit.

let's put it this way, if a bunch of us mfkers were in a bar...and a hot chick walked in and one of us said i'm going home with her tonight because i'm the best looking and funniest guy in here....every single one of us would give him crap if he failed to achieve that goal. that's what's happening to lebron. he tried to take a short cut to get a championship...and failed so we're laughing. There will be a time sometime down the road when everything will swing back the other way and people start rooting for him again.
 
Hahah i dont think ppl will start rooting for him again. Hes a perfect bad guy. He pissed alot of ppl off saying he was gonna win 7 or what. Chuck Barkley sure didnt like him saying tht. Alot of great players tried so hard to win just one trophy. Hes just easy to hate. He seems like a child trapped in a mans body.
