Non-Cichlid Tankmates for my Severum

I am looking for some non-cichlid tankmates for my severum. He doesn't get along with other cichlids. The more passive cichlids get bullied by him, and he gets bullied by the more aggressive ones, so I have decided to keep him as a solitary cichlid in my 80 gallon tank. I already have him in with the following fish and he is doing great with them...

4 Red Rainbowfish
3 Boesmani Rainbowfish
2 BN Plecos

I was maybe thinking of adding a school of Tiger Barbs or Black Ruby Barbs to the tank, but I am not sure. I would love to hear everyone's suggestions. I am not a huge fan of tetras, but I am pretty much open to any other fish

Thanks for the suggestions. I am honestly not a big fan of silver dollars...they are too similar to tetras. The only ones that appeal to me are the spotted ones and I have never seen them FS before.

Sorry, I'm not trying to be difficult, just being honest, lol

2 or 3 of Pictus Catfish , a school of Tiger Barbs or/ and a school of giant Danios , Silver Dollars , a few Clown Pleco , a school of Ram's or even a few more Rainbow fish .

Thats what i would have a think about getting ( not all of them , but maybe a couple of the diffrent spices of fish ) .

I would most likely choose 3 Pictus Catfish with a school of Rams and a few Clown Pleco . I know Ram's are a Cichlid but they do go very well with Severums and your other current fish .

you could get a school of giant danios....they are FAST!

I would get some Clown Loaches or Cory's (think they should be okay with a sev?) for the bottom, maybe some geophagus species

Larger Tetras work pretty well, too. I've got a shoal of Colombian tetra's in all of our New World tanks. Haven't lost one, whereas the red-eyed tetras all got lunched.
