Non-Cichlid Tankmates for my Severum

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Maybe it would help to tell us what you are looking for? A bottom dweller, an active middle swimmer, a fish that stays near the top, small, large, agressive, peaceful etc.

Most of the aforementioned fish above would do well with the severum.

Clowns or Cories would be perfect, Clowns would be very entertaining, but if you dont want to re-home then maybe better to get cories..Clowns can get upto 8-11" in an aquarium, however it will take many years for them to get to this size..Cories are another favourite, fascinating lil things, stay small compared to clowns so u could get a large school of them!

Hell, if he raised them to that size, he could sell 'em and get some money.

It's true though, they will put on some size eventually.

Wow guys thanks for all of the great suggestions :) I am looking for fish for all levels of the tank. I have rainbows in there as schooling fish, and 2 BN plecos on the bottom so far. I was thinking of adding a school of tiger barbs, but I am not sure. I would love to add a pair of pearl gouramis. My LFS has some 4 inch ones that I think would look nice in my tank. My sev doesn't really pay attention to the upper level of the tank, so I think they would be fine. I really like the idea of clown loaches if they are slow growers. How slowly do they grow? I think I like the idea of adding an RTS as well. I like pictus cats as well. I priced them and they are the same price as clown loaches. I think I would need to choose either one or the other. I would prefer clown loaches....and I like the idea of selling them once they get too big ;)

Just out of curiousity....Stump....what size tank do you have the fish listed in your sig in?
